Hi all,
Welcome to Lambda Sigma’s first official blog. Hopefully, this site will grow to be a successful tool for networking as well as a forum for discussing ideas among next year’s group of Lambda Sigma presidents (as well as the board). While I’ve worked with blogs before, this is my first foray into the world of blog-creation, so I’m certainly learning as I go. I wanted to bring your attention to a few things:
- I’ve tried to keep this blog as simple as possible. It’s primary purpose is to serve as a communication tool for the presidents, so I don’t feel the need to create a number of pages explaining what we’re all about (that’s what our website is for).
- I’ve included a link to our website on the right hand side (under “Blogroll”)
- I’m definitely open to suggestions on how I might make this blog better. You can let me know what you think by posting a comment to this blog post. You won’t need to sign in or create an account; all you will need to do is type your name, your email address, and your comment.
- I have included a short paragraph about the blog and its origins. You can find this by clicking “About” on the right hand side of the page.
Please don’t hesitate to let me know how I can make this blog better. As I’ve said, I have attempted to ensure that this will be a simple, user-friendly site that will ensure for a smooth transition once my term on the board is finished. This will not eliminate the need for email groups, but I hope that it will shift the discussion away from the one-on-one nature of email to the open forum-style advantage that blogs provide. We’ll still use email to let the presidents know when a new blog post has been submitted.
Thanks in advance for your comments!
Sam

I am not very good with blogs but you have made it easy for me to access. The only concern I have is that all of the information that you are providing the Lambda Sigma presidents is spread through too many sources. I am afraid that I might miss information if I forget to check the blog or the yahoo group that was set up. Is there one specific place that you want the presidents to look for all of the information? I understand the need for the blog and I think it is a wondeful idea to help foster friendship and create different ideas for the presidents. Hope this helps!
